Resident Managers & CAA’s Onsite Employee Agreement – April 17, 2019

April 17, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

California’s labor laws strictly limit how much rent can be charged or credited against the wages of a resident manager or other employee required to live onsite. Significant penalties and liability can result from making this calculation incorrectly. This webinar will provide a detailed review of CAA’s Onsite Employee Agreement and a myriad of other issues related to resident managers.

This webinar will cover the key information landlords with onsite employee need to know:

  • What is the allowed lodging credit for 2019?
  • Is it possible to charge a higher rent than the lodging credit?
  • Should an onsite employee pay a security deposit?
  • Can a resident manager be an independent contractor?
  • Do resident managers have to be paid overtime?
  • How to deal a couple who share the duties of resident manager
  • Can the resident manager have roommates who pay rent?
  • When is a resident manager required?
  • What minimum duties is a resident manager required to perform?
  • Is a resident manager a tenant?
  • What happens when employment is terminated?
