COVID-19 Tenant relief Act Extension Questions

On January 29, 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law SB 91. It took effect immediately. This law extends the COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act (CTRA), California’s statewide eviction moratorium, through June 30, 2021, and enacts new protections for renters related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please review CAA’s CTRA Compliance Pagebefore submitting any questions about SB 91.

Rental Assistance Payment Program Questions

SB 91 also establishes a rental assistance program. The application process for the State of California’s Rental Assistance Payment Program opened on March 15, 2021. Visit CAA’s Rental Assistance Program Page for more information.

For questions regarding the application process for the state’s program, please email the California Department of Housing and Community Development at ERAP@hcd.ca.gov.
